There’s never a dull moment in our Older Adult Encore Ministry! Through classes, outings, and serving inside Grace and outside throughout the community, our older adults are deepening their spiritual maturity as disciples and sharing their wisdom with younger generations. Whether you’re a retiree, single, married, still working, a member of Grace or not, we welcome you to journey with us.

Encore Ministry The Gathering-Respite Care

Older adult ministry

Through a variety of classes on Sunday mornings, outings, and serving inside Grace and outside throughout the community, our older adults are a vital and very active part of the Grace family. Whether it's mentoring students at our partner schools, building for Habitat for Humanity or cooking for care or special events, there are so many opportunities to serve. There are also a variety of pathways to be spiritually fed, to deepen spiritual maturity as a disciple and share wisdom with younger generations. DAY TRIPS

On the go for monthly and seasonal day trips, there is something for everyone on these outings. Whether seeing the sites in and around Houston, or exploring new venues and activities in and around Texas, this group is living what is means to experience fun and community in the name of Jesus Christ. The Gathering

Become a volunteer at The Gathering, a monthly “care day” program for older adults with special needs, offers free time for caregivers while their loved ones are cared for by volunteers at Grace. The Gathering Place meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in Massey-Tucker Hall from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. For more information and to register, contact Denise Phelps (713-267-5063).
