- A GRACE DISGUISED
Whoever thought that grief would be described as grace? Anyone that has suffered loss knows that processing grief is very difficult. Grace hosts "A Grace Disguised" class where participants will learn and share about the grief process, pray and enjoy fellowship together. This is a six-week class meeting Thursdays at 6 p.m. in MT 201 The class begins tomorrow, October 16. The book, A Grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser, will be available for purchase for $15 when you register or on the first day of class. For more information, please contact Denise Phelps.

- WARM UP WESTCHASE
Please join us to Warm Up Westchase this fall by sponsoring a brand-new, warm, winter coat to support students attending our local HISD schools. During the month of October, we invite you to stop by our table in the lobby on Sundays or go online HERE and sponsor a coat! We a little behind in getting our coats sponsored and would like to get as many people involved as possible. We still have over 200 coats in need of sponsors. HISD does not provide bus transportation to students who live within a 2 mile radius. That means many of our students are walking to school in cold and rain. Without a coat, many students will just stay home during inclement weather. Please consider whether God might be calling you to make one or more of these students life a little easier by sponsoring one of the coats that can be found in the Welcome Center outside the sanctuary.
- MEN'S LIFE LUNCH
Men, join us at Grace’s intergenerational men’s lunch meeting, Grace Men’s Life. Men’s Life intends to bring together—in a relaxed, inviting, and engaging setting—men at various stages of their spiritual and chronological journey. The friendly and non-threatening interaction of men of all ages will produce meaningful relationships for decades to come!
We will be meeting in conjunction with the Toolbox West luncheons. Toolbox revolves around monthly lunch events designed to expose men from the marketplace to the joy and adventure of radically following Christ. Bring a friend or co-worker, son, nephew, or neighbor to enjoy lunch, fellowship, and a great message.
On Wednesday, October 22, we will meet at Lakeside Country Club (100 Wilcrest Dr., Houston). The guest that day is Lieutenant Ian Hopper. Lieutenant Hopper is a Coast Guard helicopter pilot and Search and Rescue Aircraft Commander stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. A Houston native and graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, Ian has flown numerous missions across the southern Gulf Coast, answering the call to save lives. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his role in the Kerrville, Texas, flood rescues, where he piloted the Coast Guard helicopter that was part of rescuing 200 girls at Camp Mystic. He and his wife, Emma, have three children. Ian is passionate about his faith, engaging in big-picture worldview conversations, and making the most of family time.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK
We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing! This past Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Sunday and we were glad to have Daniel Baudin lead us in a time of thanksgiving and prayer for our pastoral staff. But we don't need to limit our love and support to one Sunday a year! You can write a note of gratitude, make a call, or take them to lunch anytime--they would certainly appreciate it! And remember, even pastors need prayers! Remember them and remember their families in your daily prayer time. Thank you Julia, John, Denise, Francisco, and Aaron!
THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES
Anyone stumbling through Levitical laws? The Bible in a Year will include all groups and generations, and we hope all who embark on this journey will not just read the passage and check it off the list, but go deeper--study an intriguing story, look for clarity around a passage, or wrestle with a tough question. Below are resources of all kinds that will help you as you engage in God's Word each day. The Bible in a Year is offering content from the acclaimed "Bible Project" series of videos and resources. We have compiled many of their video offerings to coincide with the reading plan, and they offer deeper insights to certain themes and passages than the overview videos and posters. The links to the individual videos are available HERE. HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!
WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
If you are out of town or unable to be here to worship in-person this week, please join us online via livestream HERE.
The Bible in a Year continues this Sunday. We are basing the sermon series on the passages we are currently reading, this week looking into Numbers 11:10-17. Also on on Sunday, we will celebrate a baptism, and there will be a Children at the Chancel time. We will see you at 9:30!
FINANCIAL UPDATE
As stewards of His gifts, it's important to know where we stand financially as a church. As always, your faithfulness to your pledge and the ministry of Grace and His Kingdom is greatly appreciated. You may present your gifts or set up a pledge online HERE. This is also the link to revise your pledge if you have been prayerfully reviewing The 5:10:5 Plan. 2025 Collections Goal $2,800,000
Actual 2025 collections to date $2,105,515 (as of 9/30/25) Amount needed prior to year end $694,485
The amount collected over the same period last year was $2,020,634, so comparing last year to 2025, we see a 4.2% increase, or $84,881. The budget for January to September 2025 was $1,931,000, so the $2,105,515 collected represents a 9.0% increase over budget ($174,515).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
At the Congregational Meeting held this past Sunday, October 12, Elder Lisa Descant presented an overview of Grace's financial situation, including an update about the special dollar-for-dollar match gift we are working towards. You may watch Lisa's presentation HERE (the presentation begins at the 1:21 mark).
