Grace Weekly

  1. VBS SUPPORT
  2. We can't take on such a big adventure without your help! We are on a pace to have a record number of children join us this Summer. That means we need A LOT of people sharing their time to lead and care for everyone on campus! Adults may register to volunteer HERE and teen volunteers (entering seventh grade through entering College in the Fall of 2024) may register HERE.

We also need donations to purchase crafts, supplies, and snacks to fuel this great big journey. With your donation, hundreds of kids will get to hear about a BIG God who loves them more than they could ever imagine. They will learn how amazing it is to follow Jesus and live the way He taught us. You may make a gift HERE. In addition, the VBS Amazon wishlist is live HERE for you to help with supplies--it is your chance to buy six pounds of rainbow sprinkles!

  3. MEN'S LIFE BREAKFAST
  4. Grace is excited to announce a new inter-generational men's breakfast meeting, starting Wednesday, May 1. This new event, Men's Life, will meet the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 a.m. in Massey-Tucker Fellowship Hall. Breakfast will be served!

We are delighted that our first gathering will feature Bill Brown, "The Voice of the Astros" for 25 years. His anecdotes of his experiences in that role and interacting with the Astros' legends over 25+ years are priceless. Bill, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, sees sports, work, family, life, and the world from a mature perspective we all long for.

Bill's appearance at the opening meeting of Men's Life illustrates the theme and tone of this important series: what should the life of a genuine man - a man who sincerely desires to know and follow Jesus Christ - look like? Men's Life intends to bring together, in a relaxed, inviting, and engaging setting, men at various stages of their spiritual and chronological journey. With the friendly and non-threatening interaction of men of all ages will produce meaningful relationships for decades to come!

Please register by Friday, April 26 HERE so we know how much food to prepare! This Kick-off breakfast will be a full breakfast, so come hungry!

  5. The 5:10:5 Plan
  6. Given the financial reality we are in, the Session has adopted what we are calling The 5:10:5 Plan. These steps will allow Grace to be in the black in five years, and allow us to fulfill God’s mission to make disciples by equipping every generation to share both God’s good news and their everyday lives. As we implement The 5:10:5 Plan, we ask everyone to prayerfully discern taking the next right step.

For the first step, we are asking you, the congregation, to go before the Lord and discern increasing giving by 5%, which, for example, would mean a person giving a yearly gift of $5000 would add an additional $250 for the year.

The second part of the plan is a 10% increase in people who give, whether individuals or family units. This increase would be measured when new covenant partners and guests start giving for the first time, or if current partners are not giving regularly, we are hoping they will start.

The first two steps will be repeated each year for five years. After five years, we hope that you will have grown in your trust of the Lord and will have deepened your Discipleship journey. We are truly grateful for this collective effort to continue to do God’s will with the gifts He has given us.

More details about The 5:10:5 Plan can be found by watching Pastor Julia’s presentation from April 7 HERE. You may fast forward to the 36 minute mark to hear her remarks.

If you have already made a pledge and would like to add 5%, or if you have not made a pledge before and would like to make that commitment, visit the Grace giving page HERE.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing!

On Easter Sunday, the Grace family was full of the joy of celebrating our risen savior!  And full of home-baked treats from the Second Annual Grace's Greatest Baker Competition, and the participants went above and beyond competing for the title. On April 7, we learned who would take home the coveted trophy... drum roll... it was Miss Jordan Tritt! Jordan delivered her treats, confident she had made something special, and the judges agreed! Congratulations Jordan! Our sweet tooth cannot wait until next Easter!

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

If you are out of town or unable to join us for in-person worship this week, please join us online via livestream HERE.

We continue the new sermon series on Galatians begins this Sunday, looking at Galatians 3:23-29.

During worship, we will celebrate the sacrament of baptism, and Children at the Chancel. Don't forget that new EPIC courses are underway at the 11 a.m. Equipping Hour in addition to the regular Stage classes.

In addition, the new Covenant Partner Course is our process for learning more about the key theological essentials of Grace, and the vision, the mission, and the strategy of Grace. The course is led by pastors, elders, deacons, and staff and it is our unique way of talking about membership in a congregation. During the course, you will be invited to explore if joining as a “Covenant Partner” is the right next step in your journey of faith in Jesus. Refreshments and drinks will be provided. The next course will take place on Sunday at 11 a.m. Let us know you are coming by registering HERE.
