The Grace campus will be closed Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22 due to hazardous winter storm conditions.

Grace Weekly - Serve

Blood drive in memory of Eliza Luke

Saturday, February 1, 10 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. in MT Fellowship Hall

Please join Grace members Jaclyn and Charles Luke in celebrating Eliza's life by donating blood! Eliza's rare genetic disease caused her to have chronically low red blood cells and platelets. She was fortunate to receive several blood transfusions which greatly improved the quality of her short life. We can think of no better way to show our appreciation for these transfusions than to help other patients. We hope you'll schedule an appointment to give blood with us!

Pick up a basket and fill with Easter treats to bless families who are involved with Presbyterian Children's Home and Services (PCHAS). Please pick up a basket on Sundays, February 9 or 16 and return by March 2. For more information or to sign up for a basket, please contact Tammy Box.

Lunch is Served

Come and join us for Student Sunday and Lunch is Served, on Sunday, February 23! It is a Sunday where students take over all of worship, leading our congregation in a joyful noise and gathering in honor of our God. After the service, the students help hold a lunch/auction that funds our summer mission trips. Students: setup will be done on Saturday, February 22.

Friends of Samburu Garage Sale

April 2-5 (Wednesday thru Saturday).
12214 Fieldsboro Drive, Houston

Friends of Samburu, Kenya holds two charity garage sales each year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. They are currently accepting unwanted/unneeded items for the sale. They are also seeking volunteers to help run the sale, and setting up and tearing down is always a huge effort. If you are not able to work the sale, you may also prepare lunch for the volunteers and/or provide a case of bottled water. This year they are fundraising for an eye glass clinic for a remote village, help dedicate a dining hall, and interact with the student bodies at three different schools.

Meals for Ministries

Help feed our people! Sharing a meal together has long been acknowledged as a wonderful way to spark conversation and make people feel at ease with one another. Many Grace ministries events are centered on that premise. You can help these ministries thrive by providing a meal for the folks participating. The opportunities and complete details can be found HERE. Bookmark that list--currently there are several Student Ministries events that could use your help, but as new programs begin in January, we will be adding to this list for all of our ministries, so check back often and help out when you can!

The 5-10-5 Plan

Hurricane Response

Grace is partnering with World Renew Disaster Response Services to support families impacted by hurricanes Milton and Helene. World Renew has asked Grace to consider sending teams to help with long-term recovery needs and to step in after the first responders have stabilized the communities. Teams will begin serving in six months and serve over the next three years. World Renew's mission and focus is to go into areas that have been deeply impacted and possibly overlooked, giving vulnerable homeowners a chance to rebuild their lives. If you may be interested in serving with a disaster response team in 2025, please let us know by contacting Kristy Elmore. We will share more as details and trip dates are made available.

Cole Knight Missions Scholarship

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Christopher Cole Knight was a young man with unstoppable faith and love for Christ, and he lived to make that visible every day. Cole lived to serve, and he invited others to do the same. He was truly a man with a mission.

The Cole Knight Missions Scholarship Fund was created as a tangible way to carry on Cole’s mission, to help pave the way for individuals who display that same servant heart and a passion for serving God through serving others. Each year the Scholarship Fund helps scholarship recipients cover the cost of their participation in Grace Presbyterian Church youth mission trips.

Qualifications for nominees:

● Middle school or high school student participating in a Grace Presbyterian Church youth mission trip

● Individual with a servant heart who makes Jesus visible through their discipleship and service to others

Download a nomination form HERE. Please return the form to Dan or Liz via email or hard copy. Deadline for nominations is February 9, 2025.

Samburu Mission Trip

The next mission trip to Samburu county, Kenya, will be from June 14-30, 2025. This is a trip you won't easily forget!  For more information or to express you interest, you may also contact Margaret Ellis via email. Full commitment is needed by February 28.

Hurricane Helene Recovery Mission Trip

Joining with ECO partner, World Renew, we are waiting for the right time to deploy a team to serve some of the areas of North Carolina that were most devastated and overlooked in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene this past fall. If you have a heart to help families pick up the pieces and restore their homes and lives, please stay tuned for dates and consider joining us on this impactful and timely mission trip.

Watch the website for updated details, or contact Kristy Elmore (713-267-5035).

Fe Maya Guatemala Mission Trip

Please prayerfully consider joining the Grace en Español mission team as we travel to San Bartolo, Guatemala, to serve through Fe Maya, March 6-12! We will be painting a classroom, working to prepare the campus, spending time with the families and children, and celebrating all the Lord is doing to bring Christian education and love to this small, rural town in the highlands of Guatemala. For more information or to sign up to serve, please contact The Rev. Francisco Garibay.

Living Water International Mission Trip

Join us for a life-changing mission trip to The Dominican Republic, March 30-April 3! We will once again partner with Living Water International to help repair water wells in the Dominican Republic. Please prayerfully consider joining in LWI’s mission to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living water”—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. For more information or to sign up to serve with the team, please contact Amy Wisniewski.

Southern California Fire Relief

We are all grieving deeply with those in Southern California who have lost so much these last few days. Many of us personally know, or know of, folks who have lost homes, businesses, treasured possessions, and sadly, loved ones. Lift up prayers for those who have lost so much, prayers for the first responders and their families, and those who have provided assistance to those who have been evacuated. Our God hears the prayers of His people and answers them. Our denomination, ECO (A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians), is preparing to provide tangible assistance to those in need. To that end, they have set up an account to receive special offerings. They will make these funds available to churches who have direct relationships with folks who are in need within their communities.
If you would like to help, donations may be made HERE.
