Grace Weekly - Serve

Second Saturday Serve

Please join us on October 12, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. to help clean up the courtyard at Walnut Bend Elementary. We will clear out debris and weeds, mulch flower beds, and maybe even plant some fall foliage to bring joy to the campus! The Mentor Up students and some Grace School students will be joining us, so this is a great opportunity to pour into the lives of our neighborhood youth and teach them some valuable life skills!

Second Saturday Serve is a once a month, come-as-you-are, intergenerational short service opportunity in the Welcome Center or out in the community. Join us for an hour or two and make a difference in someone’s life. Watch the Grace homepage and Grace Weekly email for project details each month. For more information watch this page or contact Kristy Elmore.

F3 Apartment Ministry

F3 (Fun, Food & Faith) Apartment Ministry meets on Wednesdays after school at the Belmont Apartments, 10550 Valley Forge Dr., near Paul Revere Middle School. Friends of Westchase needs your presence to make a difference in the lives of the children living in the Belmont Apartment Community. F3 will meet on site at Belmont on Wednesdays after school beginning October 16, at 4:15-5:15 p.m., at which time children will enjoy play time, snacks, Bible lessons and crafts, and homework help. You may find out more or register to join in the fun HERE.

Warm Up Westchase

Please join us to help warm up Westchase students this fall. School buses don't pick up children unless they live over two miles from their school campus. Knowing that many of our school-aged children walk to school inspired Warm Up Westchase to provide 300 coats to help warm children attending our partner schools. On October 27, we will carry coats forward and pray over each child and family who will receive coats during a special coat dedication. We will have a table set up in the Welcome Center on Sundays in October and invite you to stop by and sponsor a coat for a student! Please contact Kristy Elmore for further information or if you'd like to help out with logistics.

You may purchase a coat online HERE.

Meals for Ministries

Help feed our people! Sharing a meal together has long been acknowledged as a wonderful way to spark conversation and make people feel at ease with one another. Many Grace ministries events are centered on that premise. You can help these ministries thrive by providing a meal for the folks participating. The opportunities and complete details can be found HERE. Bookmark that list--currently there are several Student Ministries and vacation Bible School events that could use your help, but as Summer continues and then as new Fall events begins, we will be adding to this list for all of our ministries, so check back often and help out when you can!

Basketball and Burgers

Calling all Grace men!

In partnership with Friends of Westchase, Grace has kicked off a new mentoring program on our campus: Basketball and Burgers! Once a month, a group of caring adult men join with 15 boys from Paul Revere Middle School to share a game of basketball and a meal. Many of the boys are struggling with challenges that include homelessness and food insecurity. By connecting with the boys through a sport they love, the adult mentors are hoping to build long-term trust. The Grace men have had the best time hanging out with the students, shooting hoops, and sharing Whataburger! This summer, we will be mixing things up a bit with basketball as well as some other summer fun activities (ie, gaming night, movie night, etc.) We connect with the youth once a month and meet at Grace! We hope you will join us! For more information, please contact Kristy Elmore.

The 5-10-5 Plan

Friends of Samburu Garage Sale Fall 24

Save the Date! Friends of Samburu's Charity Garage sale is from October 23-26!

Thanks to your generosity, the charity raised $7000 during their April garage sale. This amount helped to fund another greenhouse, to hold an eyeglass clinic for the Kitobor community, to visit the Kitobor primary school, to serve breakfast to the girls residing at the school, AND to help dedicate the newly built kitchen on the school's campus.

The charity's focus is now on projects planned for 2025 : build a new dining hall for the above the school, hold another eye glass clinic, and build greenhouses and chicken coops for the nearby communities in Samburu county. Be a part of the solution by volunteering to help with the upcoming sale. Volunteer HERE
