Second Saturday Serve is a once a month, come-as-you-are, intergenerational, short service opportunity in the Welcome Center or out in the community. Come and join us for Student Sunday and Lunch is Served, on Sunday, February 23! It is a Sunday where students take over all of worship, leading our congregation in a joyful noise and gathering in honor of our God. After the service, the students help hold a lunch/auction that funds our summer mission trips. Service is 9:30-10:45 a.m. Lunch and auction is 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

We are excited to welcome you to Lunch is Served 2025! Your generosity last year has already cut the cost by HALF for our students to attend this year's mission trips--thank you!

This year, our middle schoolers will be traveling to Waco, partnering with Mission Waco, while our high schoolers will be traveling to San Antonio, partnering with Blueprint Ministries. While the middle schoolers will be doing homeless ministry, our high schoolers will be getting to know homeowners as they restore locals' roofs to livable conditions. 

For the February 23 lunch auction, we will be taking all who choose to join on a road trip through our great state of Texas with yummy food, games, and more. Our students and volunteers will take care of the lunch prep as you peruse and bid on our silent auction items, such as trips, themed baskets, and dinner nights! Friends of Samburu, Kenya holds two charity garage sales each year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. They are currently accepting unwanted/unneeded items for the sale. They are also seeking volunteers to help run the sale, and setting up and tearing down is always a huge effort. If you are not able to work the sale, you may also prepare lunch for the volunteers and/or provide a case of bottled water. This year they are fundraising for an eye glass clinic for a remote village, help dedicate a dining hall, and interact with the student bodies at three different schools.

MENtorUP is a wonderful opportunity for Grace men to pour into the lives of Westchase-area middle school (and some high school) young men. We started this beautiful ministry last Spring, meeting our youth on the basketball court, and now that relationships are established, we are ready to go deeper with the students and we need you to help model and teach important life skills, explore career pathways and help our mentees experience opportunities in life that will help shape dreams!  To get involved, contact Kristy Elmore today.

Blood Drive for Bentley Rocker: Sunday, March 9, 12:30-5 p.m. in the Gymnasium

As you recall, Hurricane Helene devastated the area of Asheville, North Carolina on September 27, 2024. Please consider joining Grace's Disaster Response Mission Trip on May 5-9 to assist their rebuilding efforts. Our team will be partnering with World Renew and traveling to Asheville before heading up into a more rural area to help families restore their homes. Join Friends of Westchase in February for a sweet month of Books and Baking to support our local HISD schools! We have two meaningful ways you can get involved and make a difference:

1. Bake Cookies! Please consider baking 1-2 dozen cookies and delivering them to the reception area at Grace by February 12. These cookies will be assembled on trays and shared with teachers on Valentine's Day!

2. Donate Books for Middle School Students! Throughout the month of February, we are collecting books to support the students of Paul Revere Middle School. Many students lack access to books, and your donations can help bridge that gap! We are looking for books that appeal to students in grades 6-8. Email Kristy Elmore for more information. There will be collection bins on campus, or bring them with you to Second Saturday Serve on February 8!
