- GRACE KIDS MUSIC
The Grace Kids Music program, affectionately called GKM, is a seasonal program designed for kids to tell the stories of Jesus through their eyes through music and theater. GKM is for children and students who love, or may be introduced to, the arts in grades K-12. Throughout the fall, weekly rehearsals culminate with a big program in worship in mid-December.
This year, the annual Christmas Musical presentation is Sunday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. during worship. For October-December rehearsals: GKM K-12 will meet on Sundays from October 12 through December 7, from noon-3 p.m. in Massey-Tucker Hall B and then move to the choir room. Dress rehearsal is Saturday, December 13. The cost is $50 and includes lunch each week and a T-shirt. Scholarships are available - just email Johneice Haney.

- WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
On the first Sunday of October, we remember and affirm Christ as the head of the church, and recognize the unity of believers in Jesus Christ with Christians across the world!
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate World Communion Sunday. We’ll join with our extended worship communities, including Grace en Español, New Life Korean Church, and Holy Nations, for a powerful, shared worship experience and communion. Children will help us carry the flags of every nation as we parade through the Sanctuary during worship.
Following worship, all are invited to gather in MT Fellowship Hall for a festive lunch featuring tastes from around the world! There is no cost for lunch, but please register HERE. With so much to celebrate, this is a great Sunday to bring a friend! As a special way to connect our cultures during the World Communion Sunday Luncheon, we are calling all cookie bakers! Please consider sharing a special cookie or dessert. We are asking bakers to share two dozen (nut free) cookies, bars, or special treats. Sign up to be a baker HERE!

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK
We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing! On Wednesday, September 24, Grace Men’s Life welcomed guest speaker Terry Looper to Grace. Terry was a corporate CEO in the energy industry, and recently authored a book, Sacred Pace, which tells how he was once a highly-driven entrepreneur who valued success and money over his family and health. He describes what it took for him to change his priorities and give his life to God. Grace Men’s Life intends to bring together—in a relaxed, inviting, and engaging setting—men at various stages of their spiritual and chronological journey. The friendly and non-threatening interaction of men of all ages will produce meaningful relationships for decades to come! In October, we will be changing our scheduling. On Wednesday, October 22, we will attend the Toolbox West Lunch featuring Ian Hopper, awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his role in the Kerrville, Texas, flood rescues. The lunch will be at Lakeside Country Club, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring a friend or co-worker, son, nephew, or neighbor to enjoy lunch, fellowship, and a great message. Register HERE.

THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES
Life gets busy sometimes! If you get behind, don’t worry. Participants should always feel the freedom to jump in today. Start fresh and move forward faithfully. To review what you may have missed, the weekly podcast is great resource to review the previous week's scriptures. Grace's first-ever podcast--Grace Cast--is available twice a month! Grace Cast includes discussions from our pastors, ministry leaders and all generations of our congregation coming together to share their thoughts, insights, tough questions and summaries on our scripture readings. The format is light and conversational. The Bible Project has wonderful videos that will review each book of the Bible, as well as broad overviews and videos that delve into a specific theme. The links to the book overviews are available HERE, and they are a great way to catch up with readings that you may have missed. There are also links to "posters" which give a broad overview of each book. These will also be available in the lobby on Sunday mornings. HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!
