  1. CHRISTMAS FOR THE CITY 2025
  2. On Sunday, December 14, join us for our 11th Annual Christmas for the City, as we bring the Grace family together for this special day of serving. This is always a special, intergenerational gathering to serve and love the city of Houston. Here are this year’s projects:

    • Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Help build and/or deliver a bed for a child in our community who is currently sleeping on the floor or sharing with siblings. Our goal is to build over 55 beds!

    • Kids’ Meals Lunch Assembly: Join us as we assemble 8000 lunches for food-insecure children across Houston.

    • Kids’ Meals Sandwich Making: Help prepare 2500 meat and cheese sandwiches to go along with the assembled lunches.

    • Build-a-Bear for Bed Recipients: A perfect project for younger kids! Help stuff bears, pray over them, and send them along with the beds being delivered. Once you finish, feel free to jump in and help with Kids’ Meals!

After worship, we’ll enjoy our traditional bbq lunch before heading out to serve. Be sure to register in advance HERE! Let’s come together this Christmas to bring hope, joy, and love to children and families in our community!

  3. WOMEN'S MINISTRY LUNCH
  4. Gather your friends and join us for our Women's Ministries Christmas Luncheon to kick off this special season on Monday, December 8, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sign up HERE to decorate a table with your favorite holiday décor or simply sign up to enjoy a delicious luncheon and celebrate with us! You can register yourself or reserve a table for up to 8 ladies. The cost for lunch is $16, and childcare is available free of charge.

  5. SATURDAY SERVE AT OPEN DOOR MISSION
  6. This Saturday, November 8, please join us for a meaningful day of serving! We will meet at Grace and travel to Open Door Mission together (bus transportation is available) to serve, worship, and have fellowship with the men sheltering with Open Door Mission as they begin a new season of life and celebrate sobriety! Open Door Mission is a Christ-centered addiction recovery program and facility helping the homeless in Houston since 1954. They're dedicated to transforming the lives of the most severely addicted, destitute, homeless, and disabled men in our community for free. Please register HERE.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing!

We're so excited to have our new Equipping Pastor, The Rev. John Pflug, on board. Pastor John's presence with us is another reflection of the goodness of God as we draw closer to Him in all we do here at Grace. As we continue our time of discernment over our season of generosity this week, take a moment to watch John speak about reframing how we approach sharing our time, talent, treasure, relationships, and truth this coming year HERE.

If you would like to make your pledge for the 2026 year, share your gifts with Grace HERE. We are grateful for your contribution to our mission of equipping every generation to share the Good News and their everyday lives.

THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES

Life gets busy sometimes! If you get behind, don't worry.

Participants should always feel the freedom to jump in today. Start fresh and move forward faithfully. To review what you may have missed, the weekly podcast is great resource to review the previous week's scriptures. Grace's first-ever podcast--Grace Cast--is available twice a month! Grace Cast includes discussions from our pastors, ministry leaders and all generations of our congregation coming together to share their thoughts, insights, tough questions and summaries on our scripture readings. The format is light and conversational.

HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

If you are out of town or unable to be here to worship in-person this week, please join us online via livestream HERE.

The Bible in a Year continues this Sunday. We are basing the sermon series on the passages we are currently reading, this week looking into Joshua 24:14-18. Also on on Sunday, we will recognize our veterans, and will be encouraged again for our annual season of gratitude and giving. We will see you at 9:30!

FINANCIAL UPDATE

As stewards of His gifts, it's important to know where we stand financially as a church. As always, your faithfulness to your pledge and the ministry of Grace and His Kingdom is greatly appreciated. You may present your gifts or set up a pledge online HERE. This is also the link to revise your pledge if you have been prayerfully reviewing The 5:10:5 Plan.

2025 Collections Goal $2,800,000

Actual 2025 collections to date $2,277,883 (as of 10/31/25)

Amount needed prior to year end $522,117

The amount collected over the same period last year was $2,192,328, so comparing last year to 2025, we see a 3.9% increase, or $85,555.

The budget for January to October 2025 was $2,133,000, so the $2,277,883 collected represents a 6.8% increase over budget ($144,883).

MATCH GIFT UPDATE
Remember that generous donors have pledged to provide a match up to $300,000 for all operating fund gifts given to Grace in excess of our current 2025 target of $2,800,000. Once the actual collected 2025 revenue reaches this goal of $2,800,000, any additional giving beyond that amount will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $300,000.

Match Goal $3,100,000

Remaining to Match Goal $822,117, or 27% to go.
